Summer 2026

What

Portland Summer Squash league is a social, casual, weekly affair. There is no draft, no prizes, no subs, low stakes, lots of fun. Instead of true "teams", there will be 4-6 groups of players with similar ability.

When

The season will be 8 weeks, from July 8 - Aug 26. Each group will have a one-hour at 6pm or 7pm on Wednesday evening at either the MAC or Lloyd. If enrollment is high, we'll also add some Tuesday evening blocks. Schedule will be emailed out on Sunday July 5th.

Format

The format is similar to last summer season but differs from the more competitive, team-based winter and spring leagues. Attendees will play whoever else shows up as before, but now we will play best of 3 matches (i.e. first to win 2 games). We will also be encouraging players to enter scores on RallyPal. Entering scores will help develop our new player rating system. There will be one winner crowned at the end of the season; the person who has tallied the most matches (regardless of wins and losses).

Captains

We are hoping to have a single "captain" assigned per group. This person will have a single responsibility: to send out a group text message each week, reminding everyone in their group where and when the group is playing.
